Coffee colored
50-degree high water at Shawmut Tail water. No fish are surface feeding.
Trout would have difficulty seeing the biggest nymph I could drift. I
thought a good choice might be something bright white, large enough to
be seen, heavy enough to sink near the bottom. I could have used a sink
tip line or a sinking head, but I was fishing shallow drop-offs, in
maybe 3 feet of water. I extended the tippet to 3 feet of 3X.
Top choice
today was a gold cone head Dart. White "Polar Fibre" wing with a collar
of Mylar braid and red thread gills.
