Snook
Casting underneath Mangroves where the Snook often lie is a challenge for even expert casters.

Guided Wade Fly Fishing (4-hours minimum)

First, you will need your Florida (click to buy online) fishing license. Any Wal-Mart or most hardware stores in the Naples area have fishing licenses for sale.

We'll drive to canals where we will sight-fish (from land) to rolling Tarpon and prowling Snook. The best bite is early in the morning, but the fish will feed almost anytime. We recommend you wear long pants, sneakers, wear a hat and have sunscreen and polarized sunglasses.

Beach and estuary fishing requires you to have a fishing license as well.  Bring a hat, sunscreen and polarized sunglasses and be sure to be wearing your flats booties and bathing suit or old shorts. A chest pack or vest is a good idea to have.

A note on your Casting

You will need to be able to cast at least 50 to 60 feet and be familiar with line-hand retrieves and hook-setting. I'll teach the finer points to you the entire time we're fishing.  Hopefully what I suggest will give you reasons to practice and incorporate new technique in your repertoire.  Your casting accuracy and distance will certainly heighten your fishing pleasure.

Perhaps you'd like a casting lesson so that you may practice a day before we wade-fish. I can teach you to learn the Double-Haul and help you improve your timing. I can examine and evaluate your tackle and help you fine-tune your gear from flies to lines and leaders.

Private Casting Lessons: $30 per  hour
