The South Tamiami Trail
(below) has several canals that hold Tarpon and Snook, especially
in winter. Mornings are best. Sink tip line can be effective.

a Baby Tarpon
The location above is
a canal system in the Everglades. Alligators,
Manatees, Snook, and Baby Tarpon are common. Hooking a Baby Tarpon takes
as much patience and skill as you can muster and fly selection is important.

Naples
Area Wade Fly Fishing
Naples has several
wade-fishing areas where it is possible to catch Baby Tarpon, Snook,
Jacks and Spotted Sea Trout on foot. Often my choice for
wade fly fishing in the Naples area when conditions are right...is Clam Pass.
This tidal
estuary (pictured top left) feeds three salt ponds and has boardwalk and beach access,
perfect for the vacationers at the
Registry
Resort
near the Pass. Choice of tide is the outgoing to low, however we
have caught fish at all tides.

Early morning beach
fishing near the Passes is often good for Snook and roaming schools
of Jacks. A floating is the choice for this
walking-sight-fishing trip.
