January, 2010 Tarpon
Update December 31, 2010
The start of the winter season has been a good one
with strong cold fronts putting a hold on the beach and estuary fishing
and sending the game fish into the deep Everglades creeks and canals.
We've been on the Tarpon and Snook better than ever with our new fly
patterns which match the subtle colors of the creek baitfish. We're
using an intermediate line and a 30 lb bite tippet in the canals and
have landed more than our normal number of Baby Tarpon. We are exercising
patience and concentration along with casting accuracy and constant
anticipation of a strike.
