Midges: Literally all year long. Fish both the pupa and adult (Griffiths Gnat)

Little Black Stonefly: Fish small nymphs April to Mid-May

Quill Gordon: May and June. Gold-ribbed Hares Ear Nymph and Quill Gordon Dry

Hendrickson: A Major Hatch. Mid-May- Mid-June. Dark Flymph Nymphs, Large #10-12 Comparadun and traditional dry patterns.

Cornuta: Mid- May- June. Three-tailed Blue Winged Olive #14. Use BWO Comparadun and Pheasant Tail Nymph.

Blue Winged Olive: Hatches in overcast in greater numbers May through October. Many sizes from 14-26. Pheasant Tail Nymph and Comparadun.

Mahogany Dun: Summer's hardest masking hatch. When hatching in large numbers these micro insects can be on the menu.

Caddis: Many varieties of size and color. Hatch June through September. Bead Head Caddis , Sparkle Pupae, green Caddis worm for subsurface. Elk Hair Caddis varied body color.

Alder Fly (Zebra Caddis): Late June-early July. Large #10 Mottled Brown fly with long antennae.

Yellow Sally: Small pale yellow Stonefly hatches spring throughout summer.

Stone Flies: Golden Stone and Black Stone Nymphs all year, all sections of the Kennebec above Shawmut.

Flying Ant: Can be a major hatch. August-September Sunken ant #16 Dry Black ant #16-20.

Baitfish: Sculpins, Black Nose Dace, Alewife, Small mouth Bass Fry, River Chubs, Smelt (upper Kennebec)
