The head waters of the Kennebec River is
Moosehead Lake and the outlets, East and West. Good fishing
friend, Jeremy calls and he and Florida Buddy, Dave meet up with
me at the East Outlet. Heavy spring rains have made the rivers
all over Maine high for a month! However, like anything, this
too passes and now the fish are hungry, the water is at 2336
c.f.s. and wadable. Black flies and mosquitoes are about and
biting, but not enough to have to apply bug repellant. The air
is warm and the water temp is a cool 48-degrees!The flies had to
be weighted and small yellow and brown streamer flies were very
successful. I landed 5 Salmon and eight Brook Trout and had a
great day fishing.

We took our time taking
under water photos . The Brook Trout had terrific coloration.
